The Cloud is not a crossover kite. Its performance is optimized for kitefoil freestyle + surfing at power levels far, far, far lighter than traditional kiting.
CloudRiding is about less pull + more glide so much so that it shares much more similarity to wingfoiling than to the majority of kiting.
This description isn’t intended as hating on mainstream kiting. Over my personal riding history I’ve loved nearly all forms of kiting and encourage all riders to follow their stoke on their own journey.
This description is intended to highlight the radical differences in power levels across the kiting spectrum. And the corresponding differences in kite performance for range, responsiveness, power delivery, ability to stay aloft, re-launch and more.
It would be awesome if a single kite could perform excellent at every power level. However top performance requires many very significant kite handling differences that don’t overlap at heavy, medium and light riding power.
The Cloud’s performance is without compromise.
